My passion for women's hormone health is deeply personal. When my mom was going through menopause in her 40s and 50s, the Women's Health Initiative had just come out — and like so many women, she was not offered hormone therapy. I watched her navigate that transition without the support she needed. I saw the hot flashes, the mental toll, the debilitating body pain, and the toll that hormonal decline took on her strength, her sleep, and her spirit.
And yet, despite it all, she remained resilient. At 61, she hiked over 40 miles with me on the John Muir Trail, carrying a 35-pound pack like the total force of nature she is. But I still wonder: what would menopause have looked like if she'd had access to the kind of care I now offer?
That's part of why I started Ascend Hormone Care. Because no woman should have to walk through menopause unsupported. No woman should feel like she's just supposed to "deal with it."
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."— 1 Peter 4:10
This work is my calling. It's how I live out my faith: by listening, educating, and showing up fully for women in midlife and beyond.
